From 2012 to 2022, the share of Zambia, Tanzania, Senegal and Congo increased by +5.2, +4.7, +3.7 and +3.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest ethylene glycol supplier in Africa, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Tanzania ($X), with a 3.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 3.1% share.

In South Africa, ethylene glycol exports shrank by an average annual rate of -10.7% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tanzania (+5.7% per year) and Senegal (+14.6% per year).
