The following importers - Libya (X tons), Algeria (X tons), Namibia (X tons), Angola (X tons) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) - together made up 13% of total imports.

Mozambique was also the fastest-growing in terms of the ferro-silicon imports, with a CAGR of +92.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Libya (+69.8%), Morocco (+20.6%), Egypt (+12.4%), Angola (+8.8%) and Botswana (+5.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. South Africa experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Namibia (-1.1%), Algeria (-1.3%) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (-3.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mozambique (+29 p.p.), Morocco (+8.7 p.p.), Libya (+4 p.p.) and Egypt (+2.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Algeria, Botswana and South Africa saw its share reduced by -3.9%, -4.2%, -4.8%, -5.1% and -18.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Mozambique ($X), Morocco ($X) and Egypt ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 52% share of total imports.

Mozambique, with a CAGR of +78.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
