South Africa (X tons) and Niger (X tons) prevails in exports structure, together constituting 84% of total exports. Togo (X tons), Mozambique (X tons), Congo (X tons) and Tunisia (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Niger (with a CAGR of +118.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest liquid fuel furnace burner supplying countries in Africa were South Africa ($X), Niger ($X) and Togo ($X), together accounting for 82% of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Niger, with a CAGR of +98.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, growing by 7.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 52% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Togo ($X per ton), while Congo ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Congo (+4.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Africa

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of furnace burners for liquid fuel decreased by -45.2% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a slight expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, liquid fuel furnace burner imports shrank remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

In 2021, Algeria (X tons), distantly followed by Morocco (X tons), Nigeria (X tons) and South Africa (X tons) were the major importers of furnace burners for liquid fuel, together comprising 68% of total imports. Libya (X tons), Angola (X tons), Egypt (X tons), Ethiopia (X tons), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) and Kenya (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Morocco (with a CAGR of +26.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Algeria ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Morocco ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 54% of total imports. South Africa, Libya, Egypt, Ethiopia, Angola, Kenya and Democratic Republic of the Congo lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.

Democratic Republic of the Congo, with a CAGR of +28.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -34.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2020, and then fell significantly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per ton), while Algeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+16.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
