It was distantly followed by South Africa (X tons) and Egypt (X tons), together creating a 22% share of total imports. The following importers - Libya (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) - each resulted at a 4.1% share of total imports.

Imports into Algeria increased at an average annual rate of +25.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Cote d'Ivoire (+53.6%), Egypt (+36.3%), Libya (+10.9%) and South Africa (+3.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Cote d'Ivoire emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Africa, with a CAGR of +53.6% from 2012-2022. Algeria (+53 p.p.), Egypt (+9.9 p.p.) and Cote d'Ivoire (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while South Africa saw its share reduced by -5.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
