The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 24%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +64.2% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 46%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, non-electric motor handtools imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 27%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

South Africa dominates imports structure, reaching X units, which was near 61% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Egypt (X units), constituting a 5.2% share of total imports. Namibia (X units), Nigeria (X units), Morocco (X units), Algeria (X units), Libya (X units) and Mauritius (X units) took a little share of total imports.
