In 2021, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -80.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 92% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

In 2021, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -11.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the import price increased by 27% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Ghana ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
