In value terms, imines production rose markedly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Egypt represented the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached 46% of total exports. It was distantly followed by South Africa (X tons), Kenya (X tons) and Cameroon (X tons), together generating a 54% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Cameroon (with a CAGR of +408,700.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Egypt ($X) emerged as the largest imines supplier in Africa, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Africa ($X), with a 28% share of total exports. It was followed by Cameroon, with a 7.1% share.

In Egypt, imines exports increased at an average annual rate of +30.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Africa (+15.8% per year) and Cameroon (+196,763.2% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -29.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the export price increased by 758% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Kenya ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, imines imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a prominent expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

South Africa (X tons) and Algeria (X tons) represented roughly 59% of total imports in 2021. Egypt (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Nigeria (X tons), Morocco (X tons) and Zimbabwe (X tons). All these countries together held near 28% share of total imports. The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Algeria ($X per ton), while Nigeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
