Inductor Market Size in Africa

The African inductor market reduced slightly to $X in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw resilient growth. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Inductor Production in Africa

In value terms, inductor production reached $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, posted prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the production volume increased by 124%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2020; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

In 2022, approx. X units of inductors were exported in Africa; increasing by 37% on the previous year's figure. In general, exports continue to indicate noticeable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 138% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, inductor exports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -22.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 91%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Tunisia dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was near 89% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Morocco (X units), committing an 8.7% share of total exports.

Exports from Tunisia increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Morocco (+35.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +35.2% from 2012-2022. Tunisia (+11 p.p.) and Morocco (+8.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Tunisia ($X) remains the largest inductor supplier in Africa, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Morocco ($X), with a 17% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Tunisia totaled +2.6%.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -17.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per unit), while Tunisia amounted to $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tunisia (-0.9%).

Inductor Imports

Imports in Africa

In 2022, supplies from abroad of inductors was finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 69%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, inductor imports amounted to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

The purchases of the six major importers of inductors, namely Egypt, South Africa, Mozambique, Tunisia, Nigeria and Ethiopia, represented more than half of total import. Rwanda (X units), Swaziland (X units), Uganda (X units), Morocco (X units), Kenya (X units), Zambia (X units) and Tanzania (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Swaziland (with a CAGR of +23.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Tunisia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported inductors in Africa, comprising 30% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Africa ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Egypt, with a 6% share.

In Tunisia, inductor imports increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Africa (-8.0% per year) and Egypt (-5.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per unit, declining by -1.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 50%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per unit), while Nigeria (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
