In 2021, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per ton), while Morocco stood at $X per ton.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 129%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, inorganic oxygen compounds of non-metals imports contracted sharply to $X in 2021.
