From 2012 to 2022, the share of Tanzania, Algeria, Ghana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, Guinea and Cameroon increased by +3.9, +2.5, +2.3, +2.2, +2, +1.7 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported iron or steel leaf-springs and leaves in Africa, comprising 28% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Algeria ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Ethiopia, with a 7.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in South Africa totaled +2.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Algeria (+8.3% per year) and Ethiopia (+0.8% per year).
