In 2022, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, growing by 14% against the previous year. Export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, limestone flux and limestone export price increased by +79.6% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 28% against the previous year. In value terms, the largest limestone flux and limestone importing markets in Africa were Madagascar ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Ghana ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports. Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.9%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Madagascar ($X per ton), while Liberia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
