There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per unit), while Burkina Faso ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+10.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, overseas purchases of machinery for preparing animal feedstuffs decreased by -10.2% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Total imports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -41.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, feedstuff preparing machinery imports totaled $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Nigeria (X units) and Algeria (X units) represented roughly 36% of total imports in 2021. In value terms, the largest feedstuff preparing machinery importing markets in Africa were Algeria ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Egypt ($X), with a combined 50% share of total imports. South Africa, Kenya, Libya, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Angola, Ethiopia, Botswana and Zambia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Algeria ($X per unit), while Libya ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
