At the same time, Kenya (+45.6%), Tanzania (+44.1%), Morocco (+24.7%) and Tunisia (+11.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kenya emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +45.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, South Africa (-8.7%) and Uganda (-9.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Morocco (+13 p.p.), Kenya (+6.9 p.p.), Tanzania (+5.6 p.p.) and Tunisia (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Uganda and South Africa saw its share reduced by -3.4% and -18.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest medicaments containing vitamins supplying countries in Africa were Egypt ($X), Morocco ($X) and South Africa ($X), with a combined 79% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Tunisia, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, which together accounted for a further 12%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Tanzania, with a CAGR of +36.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 71% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed tangible growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 72%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per ton), while Uganda ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+16.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 38%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, the largest medicaments containing vitamins importing markets in Africa were South Africa ($X), Ghana ($X) and Libya ($X), with a combined 20% share of total imports. Nigeria, Angola, Cote d'Ivoire, Madagascar, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Somalia, Uganda and Sierra Leone lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.

In 2021, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -5.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 19%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per ton), while Sierra Leone ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+6.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
