Overall, consumption showed a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mould for mineral materials production expanded modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, showed a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the production volume increased by 337% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, the amount of moulds for mineral materials exported in Africa contracted remarkably to X units, which is down by -43.8% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 122% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, mould for mineral materials exports declined notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 115%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Morocco (X units) was the largest exporter of moulds for mineral materials, mixing up 62% of total exports. South Africa (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 19% share, followed by Tunisia (4.6%). Algeria (X units), Cameroon (X units) and Egypt (X units) took a minor share of total exports.
Exports from Morocco increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Cameroon (+38.2%), Egypt (+23.1%) and Tunisia (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Cameroon emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +38.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Algeria (-1.0%) and South Africa (-5.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Morocco (+27 p.p.), Cameroon (+3.4 p.p.) and Egypt (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while South Africa saw its share reduced by -17.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Morocco ($X) remains the largest mould for mineral materials supplier in Africa, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Africa ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Algeria, with a 3.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Morocco amounted to +9.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Africa (-4.5% per year) and Algeria (-1.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per unit, rising by 22% against the previous year. Export price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mould for mineral materials export price decreased by -18.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 47%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per unit), while Egypt ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, imports of moulds for mineral materials in Africa declined notably to X units, waning by -16.8% against 2021. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 28%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mould for mineral materials imports declined to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Algeria (X units), distantly followed by Nigeria (X units), Egypt (X units), Morocco (X units), Kenya (X units), Cote d'Ivoire (X units) and Ghana (X units) represented the largest importers of moulds for mineral materials, together constituting 72% of total imports. South Africa (X units), Guinea (X units), Tanzania (X units), Djibouti (X units), Tunisia (X units) and Angola (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +68.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Algeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported moulds for mineral materials in Africa, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Egypt ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Morocco, with a 12% share.
In Algeria, mould for mineral materials imports increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Egypt (-0.4% per year) and Morocco (-13.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 17%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
