As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-electric industrial furnace exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 168% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

South Africa dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 90% of total exports in 2022. Tunisia (X units) took a relatively small share of total exports.

In 2022, purchases abroad of non-electric industrial or laboratory furnaces and ovens increased by 70% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 137%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-electric industrial furnace imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 125%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Tanzania (X units), distantly followed by Nigeria (X units), Ghana (X units), South Africa (X units), Algeria (X units), Egypt (X units), Tunisia (X units) and Morocco (X units) represented the largest importers of non-electric industrial or laboratory furnaces and ovens, together comprising 81% of total imports. Zambia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Ghana (with a CAGR of +39.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per unit, growing by 2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 19% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per unit), while Tanzania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
