The African thermostat market shrank modestly to $X in 2021, falling by -2.5% against the previous year. In general, consumption showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Tunisia dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 98% of total exports in 2021. South Africa (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Tunisia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of thermostats. At the same time, South Africa (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Africa emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +4.8% from 2012-2021. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In 2021, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -34.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 42% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per unit), while Tunisia amounted to $X per unit.

In value terms, thermostat imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
