The following exporters - Mozambique (X units), Mauritius (X units) and Tanzania (X units) - together made up 7.9% of total exports.

Exports from South Africa increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Mozambique (+33.0%), Egypt (+18.7%) and Morocco (+5.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mozambique emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +33.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Tunisia (-1.8%), Mauritius (-4.4%) and Tanzania (-21.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of South Africa (+35 p.p.), Morocco (+6.8 p.p.), Egypt (+5.1 p.p.) and Mozambique (+2.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Tanzania (-16.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Morocco ($X) remains the largest non-hydraulic press supplier in Africa, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Africa ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by Tunisia, with a 4.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Morocco amounted to +39.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Africa (-12.2% per year) and Tunisia (+9.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Africa stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -8.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 4,137%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per unit), while Egypt ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tanzania (+36.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
