The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. South Africa prevails in exports structure, reaching X units, which was near 93% of total exports in 2021. Tunisia (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to spectacle non-plastic frame exports from South Africa stood at +14.3%. At the same time, Tunisia (+27.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tunisia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +27.1% from 2012-2021. At the same time, Algeria (+19.1%), Botswana (+12.3%), Namibia (+7.0%), Morocco (+6.8%), Mauritius (+2.6%) and Libya (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Algeria emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Africa, with a CAGR of +19.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Tunisia (-8.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, the largest spectacle non-plastic frame importing markets in Africa were South Africa ($X), Morocco ($X) and Tunisia ($X), with a combined 66% share of total imports.
Morocco, with a CAGR of +8.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
