In value terms, South Africa ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Morocco ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 87% share of total exports.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +78.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Africa stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 360% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a prominent increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($X per unit), while Zimbabwe ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+36.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, imports of planing, milling or moulding machines in Africa soared to X units, increasing by 71% on 2020 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, wood milling machine imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year. Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -34% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the import price increased by 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per unit), while South Africa ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+7.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
