Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, the largest plastic fittings for tubes, pipes and hoses supplying countries in Africa were Morocco ($X), South Africa ($X) and Egypt ($X), together accounting for 87% of total exports.
Morocco, with a CAGR of +51.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 33% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per ton), while Botswana ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, Morocco ($X), Tunisia ($X) and Egypt ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 35% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Algeria, South Africa, Nigeria, Libya, Tanzania, Ghana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Ethiopia and Kenya, which together accounted for a further 42%.
Tanzania, with a CAGR of +15.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 16% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($X per ton), while Kenya ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tunisia (+9.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
