Namibia (X tons) and Swaziland (X tons) dominates exports structure, together committing 86% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Egypt (X tons), constituting a 5.4% share of total exports. Libya (X tons), Congo (X tons) and Botswana (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Libya (with a CAGR of +26.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Swaziland ($X) remains the largest other chemical products supplier in Africa, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Namibia ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by Egypt, with an 11% share.

In Swaziland, other chemical products exports decreased by an average annual rate of -15.4% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Namibia (+16.2% per year) and Egypt (+7.8% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 24% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 53%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Libya ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

For the fourth year in a row, Africa recorded decline in supplies from abroad of other chemical products, which decreased by -0.5% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, other chemical products imports totaled $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 10%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

The purchases of the twelve major importers of other chemical products, namely Algeria, Nigeria, Zambia, Cote d'Ivoire, Namibia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Ghana, Togo and Cameroon, represented more than two-thirds of total import.

The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the import price increased by 16%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Namibia ($X per ton), while Cameroon ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
