The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest ethylene polymer rigid pipes supplier in Africa, comprising 42% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ghana ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 16% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in South Africa was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ghana (+4.9% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+18.3% per year).

Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, Mozambique, Senegal, Zambia, Rwanda, Cote d'Ivoire, Tanzania and Benin lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.
Mozambique, with a CAGR of +27.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
