The following exporters - Senegal (X units), Niger (X units), Mali (X units), Namibia (X units) and Mozambique (X units) - together made up 11% of total exports.
Exports from South Africa decreased at an average annual rate of -6.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Niger (+44.4%), Cameroon (+25.2%), Senegal (+11.6%), Mali (+7.2%) and Botswana (+5.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Niger emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +44.4% from 2012-2022. Mozambique experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Zambia (-2.6%), Namibia (-4.3%) and Burkina Faso (-9.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Cameroon, Botswana, Niger and Senegal increased by +7.3, +5.8, +2.7 and +2.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest self-propelled boring machinery supplier in Africa, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Cameroon ($X), with a 7.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Burkina Faso, with a 3.9% share.
In South Africa, self-propelled boring machinery exports expanded at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Cameroon (+46.8% per year) and Burkina Faso (-9.9% per year).
