In value terms, the largest suspension system supplying countries in Africa were South Africa ($X), Morocco ($X) and Tunisia ($X), together accounting for 98% of total exports.
Morocco, with a CAGR of +78.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The export price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -8% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable reduction. In 2022, supplies from abroad of suspension systems increased by 9.1% to X tons, rising for the seventh year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. In 2022, Nigeria (X tons) and South Africa (X tons) represented the main importers of suspension systems in Africa, together resulting at near 44% of total imports. Algeria (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Morocco (8.6%). Egypt (X tons), Ghana (X tons), Kenya (X tons), Zimbabwe (X tons), Libya (X tons), Tanzania (X tons) and Sudan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Morocco (with a CAGR of +19.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Africa ($X), Morocco ($X) and Algeria ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 56% share of total imports.
Morocco, with a CAGR of +18.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -6.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 20% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while Nigeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
