The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

South Africa prevails in exports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 94% of total exports in 2021. Tunisia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
South Africa experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of tyres for motor cars. Tunisia (-6.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. South Africa (X units) and Morocco (X units) represented roughly 45% of total imports in 2021. Egypt (X units) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Algeria (X units), Libya (X units) and Kenya (X units). All these countries together held approx. 26% share of total imports. Tanzania (X units), Sudan (X units), Ethiopia (X units), Ghana (X units), Angola (X units) and Tunisia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Morocco (with a CAGR of +15.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest passenger car tyre importing markets in Africa were South Africa ($X), Morocco ($X) and Algeria ($X), together comprising 47% of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Morocco, with a CAGR of +13.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Africa stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 10% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
