The following exporters - Equatorial Guinea (X tons), Namibia (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) - together made up 6.8% of total exports.
Exports from South Africa decreased at an average annual rate of -7.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Equatorial Guinea (+45.2%), Ghana (+35.9%) and Kenya (+25.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Equatorial Guinea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +45.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Namibia (-2.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kenya (+4.4 p.p.), Equatorial Guinea (+2.6 p.p.) and Ghana (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of South Africa (-10.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest pneumatic or hydraulic hand tool supplier in Africa, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kenya ($X), with a 7% share of total exports. It was followed by Namibia, with a 1.2% share.
In South Africa, pneumatic or hydraulic hand tool exports shrank by an average annual rate of -1.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kenya (+28.0% per year) and Namibia (-1.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country

Total imports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine-year period. In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pneumatic or hydraulic hand tools in Africa, comprising 35% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Nigeria ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Algeria, with a 5.5% share.
