While the share of Nigeria (+26 p.p.) and Burkina Faso (+6.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Egypt (-3.3 p.p.) and South Africa (-3.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest transmission shaft importing markets in Africa were South Africa ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Egypt ($X), with a combined 49% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Nigeria, with a CAGR of +12.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
