In value terms, water-skis and surfboards exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 90%. In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest water-skis and surfboards supplier in Africa, comprising 71% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Tunisia ($X), with an 18% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa amounted to +13.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tunisia (+3.2% per year) and Mauritius (+28.1% per year).

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, water-skis and surfboards imports totaled $X in 2022. Egypt (X units), Libya (X units), Tunisia (X units) and Mayotte (X units) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Nigeria (with a CAGR of +24.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
