Italy (X kg) was the main destination for abrasives exports from Algeria, with a 86% share of total exports. Moreover, abrasives exports to Italy exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X kg), ninefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Portugal (X kg), with a 3.1% share.

In value terms, abrasives imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Greece (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of abrasives to Algeria, with a 62% share of total imports. Moreover, abrasives imports from Greece exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Turkey (X tons), with a 12% share.
