Tunisia (X tons) was the main destination for office supply exports from Algeria, accounting for a 91% share of total exports. Moreover, office supply exports to Tunisia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Angola (X kg), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Tunisia totaled +2.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Angola (+2.4% per year) and Spain (-19.3% per year).
In value terms, Tunisia ($X) remains the key foreign market for office or school supplies of plastics exports from Algeria, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 2.4% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Tunisia totaled -4.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (-23.4% per year) and Angola (-12.0% per year).

In 2022, supplies from abroad of office or school supplies of plastics was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 57%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, office supply imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -37.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 34%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
