The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 275% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) was the main destination for chicken meat exports from Angola, accounting for a 95% share of total exports. Moreover, chicken meat exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Spain (X tons), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Democratic Republic of the Congo was relatively modest.
In value terms, Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X) remains the key foreign market for chicken meat exports from Angola, comprising 55% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with an 8.7% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Democratic Republic of the Congo stood at -4.0%.
Export Prices by Country
The average chicken meat export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 9.1% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, chicken meat export price decreased by -19.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 29%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+8.6%).

Imports into Angola
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of chicken meat, when their volume increased by 13% to X tons. In general, imports, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 75% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, chicken meat imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 98%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The United States (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of chicken meat imports to Angola, together accounting for 78% of total imports. Argentina, Belgium, Turkey and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.8%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Ukraine (with a CAGR of +59.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of chicken meat to Angola, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with a 3.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the United States totaled -6.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (-10.5% per year) and the UK (+35.2% per year).

The average chicken meat import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 7.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 13%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the countries with the highest prices were the UK ($X per ton) and Argentina ($X per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($X per ton) and Brazil ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (-2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
