The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 973% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Turkey (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of fresh whole chicken imports to Angola, with a combined 63% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Uruguay, Spain, Canada and Argentina, which together accounted for a further 32%.
