Graphic Papers Market Size in Angola

The Angolan graphic papers market declined dramatically to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -29% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In general, consumption recorded a slight slump. Nigeria (X tons), Congo (X tons) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) were the main destinations of graphic papers exports from Angola, with a combined 80% share of total exports. France lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further 8%.

In 2022, imports of graphic papers into Angola contracted remarkably to X tons, with a decrease of -29.7% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 146%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

In value terms, graphic papers imports fell rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 136%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Portugal (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of graphic papers to Angola, accounting for a 24% share of total imports. Moreover, graphic papers imports from Portugal exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Indonesia (X tons), fourfold. Singapore (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Portugal totaled -6.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Indonesia (+5.4% per year) and Singapore (+15.6% per year).

In value terms, Portugal ($X) constituted the largest supplier of graphic papers to Angola, comprising 24% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 5% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 4.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Portugal totaled -8.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+2.3% per year) and Singapore (+16.3% per year).
