Loading machinery exports from Angola dropped markedly to X units in 2022, with a decrease of -42.5% against the year before. In general, exports continue to indicate a slight decrease. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Norway (X units) was the main destination for loading machinery exports from Angola, accounting for a 43% share of total exports. Moreover, loading machinery exports to Norway exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Portugal (X units), threefold. The UK (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.

In 2022, the amount of lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery imported into Angola contracted modestly to X units, dropping by -4.3% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 257% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, loading machinery imports declined modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 84%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of loading machinery to Angola, accounting for a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, loading machinery imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Portugal (X units), ninefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Colombia (X units), with a 5.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at +11.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Portugal (-19.2% per year) and Colombia (+30.7% per year).

The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Portugal, with a 6.2% share.
