The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 513% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-medical x-ray imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded resilient growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Russia (X tons), China (X tons) and South Africa (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-medical x-ray imports to Angola, together comprising 40% of total imports. Hong Kong SAR, Norway, Malaysia, Germany, Portugal, Namibia and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per ton), while the price for the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Namibia (+20.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
