Potato Market Size in Angola

After four years of decline, the Angolan potato market increased by 11% to $X in 2021. In general, consumption, however, showed a pronounced slump. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons), Congo (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of potato exports from Angola, with a combined 91% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +86.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, potato imports declined sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a sharp decline.
