Italy (X tons) was the main destination for other cereals exports from Argentina, accounting for a 75% share of total exports. Moreover, other cereals exports to Italy exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United States (X tons), with an 8.1% share.

From 2018 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+38.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Argentina
After two years of growth, overseas purchases of other cerealses decreased by -15.2% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 135%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, other cereals imports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 74%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Peru (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of other cereals to Argentina, with a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, other cereals imports from Peru exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), fourfold. Bolivia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Peru stood at +46.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+44.2% per year) and Bolivia (-14.2% per year).
In value terms, Peru ($X) constituted the largest supplier of other cereals to Argentina, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Bolivia, with a 4.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Peru amounted to +39.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+50.2% per year) and Bolivia (-16.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average other cereals import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -12.1% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, other cereals import price decreased by -23.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while the price for Bolivia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Paraguay (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
