In 2022, overseas purchases of cheese and curd increased by 71% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, imports enjoyed a notable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 145%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, cheese and curd imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a tangible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 148%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, Uruguay (X tons) constituted the largest cheese and curd supplier to Argentina, accounting for a 86% share of total imports.
