From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Paraguay ($X per kg), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per kg) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Paraguay (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of leather footwear decreased by -6.7% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after seven years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 23%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, leather footwear imports rose modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced decline. Vietnam (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the main suppliers of leather footwear imports to Argentina, with a combined 74% share of total imports. These countries were followed by China, India, Cambodia and Hong Kong SAR, which together accounted for a further 20%.
