Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Algeria (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of ghee were finally on the rise to reach X kg after six years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 235%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ghee imports rose notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight descent. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, the Netherlands (X kg) constituted the largest supplier of ghee to Argentina, accounting for a 84% share of total imports. Moreover, ghee imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X kg), sixfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Netherlands totaled -20.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (-11.4% per year) and Switzerland (+1.2% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ghee to Argentina, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 23% share of total imports.

The average ghee import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 160% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for Switzerland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
