Uruguay (X tons), Chile (X tons) and Peru (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fibres and wool exports from Argentina, together comprising 90% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +82.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Chile ($X) remains the key foreign market for glass fibres and glass wool exports from Argentina, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Uruguay, with a 13% share.

In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 237%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Paraguay ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+22.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Argentina
In 2022, the amount of glass fibres and glass wool imported into Argentina rose slightly to X tons, increasing by 4.3% against 2021. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 31%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, glass fibres and wool imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a buoyant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest glass fibres and wool supplier to Argentina, with a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fibres and wool imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Uruguay (X tons), fourfold. The Czech Republic (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +12.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uruguay (-2.9% per year) and the Czech Republic (+78.8% per year).
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass fibres and glass wool to Argentina, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the Czech Republic stood at +74.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+18.9% per year) and the United States (-0.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average glass fibres and wool import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 85% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 94% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while the price for Uruguay ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
