Poland (X tons) was the main destination for imines exports from Argentina, with a 68% share of total exports. Moreover, imines exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Finland (X tons), fivefold. Brazil (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 14% share.

After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof decreased by -32.6% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 57%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, imines imports reduced modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +30.4% against 2013 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 46%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, India (X tons) constituted the largest imines supplier to Argentina, accounting for a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, imines imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Mexico (X tons), with a 2.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from India amounted to +5.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+4.5% per year) and Mexico (+40.4% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from India amounted to +9.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+4.3% per year) and Mexico (+60.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average imines import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 44% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+13.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
