Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, malt imports stood at $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, faced a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 10%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Belgium (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of malt imports to Argentina, with a combined 65% share of total imports. Uruguay, Chile, Ireland, France, Canada and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +210.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
