In value terms, Paraguay ($X) remains the key foreign market for natural rubber and gums exports from Argentina, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 1.2% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Paraguay stood at -16.4%.

In 2022, the average natural rubber and gum export price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -3.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 7.1% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Paraguay amounted to $X per ton.

Imports into Argentina
In 2022, the amount of natural rubber and gums imported into Argentina surged to X tons, jumping by 32% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +89.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, natural rubber and gum imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 94%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Thailand (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Guatemala (X tons) were the main suppliers of natural rubber and gum imports to Argentina, together comprising 92% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Malaysia (with a CAGR of +6.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Thailand ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Vietnam ($X) appeared to be the largest natural rubber and gum suppliers to Argentina, with a combined 93% share of total imports.
Malaysia, with a CAGR of +5.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average natural rubber and gum import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Malaysia ($X per ton) and Thailand ($X per ton), while the price for Guatemala ($X per ton) and Vietnam ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (-1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
