The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 14%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports reduced modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 4.7%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Brazil (X tons) was the main destination for nonwoven fabric exports from Argentina, with a 75% share of total exports. Moreover, nonwoven fabric exports to Brazil exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Chile (X tons), fourfold. Uruguay (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Brazil amounted to -1.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (-3.1% per year) and Uruguay (-3.3% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Brazil totaled -2.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (-5.2% per year) and Uruguay (-4.8% per year).

In 2022, the average nonwoven fabric export price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Brazil (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of nonwoven fabric to Argentina, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, nonwoven fabric imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Paraguay (X tons), with a 5.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Brazil amounted to -2.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+10.7% per year) and Paraguay (+131.9% per year).

In 2022, the average nonwoven fabric import price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -10.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 27%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
