In value terms, Brazil ($X) remains the key foreign market for trucks exports from Argentina, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 9.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Peru, with an 8.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Brazil was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (+11.1% per year) and Peru (+11.6% per year).

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Paraguay ($X per unit) and Brazil ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Chile ($X per unit) and Colombia ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of trucks imported into Argentina rose to X units, picking up by 2.8% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 75%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, truck imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 53%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Brazil (X units) constituted the largest truck supplier to Argentina, accounting for a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, truck imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (X units), ninefold. Thailand (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Brazil stood at -6.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (+17.0% per year) and Thailand (+15.7% per year).
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constituted the largest supplier of trucks to Argentina, comprising 66% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a 7.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 5.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Brazil totaled -7.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (+19.2% per year) and Thailand (+15.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average truck import price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a slight contraction. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while the price for Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
