Blow Lamp Market Size in ASEAN

The ASEAN blow lamp market skyrocketed to $X in 2022, picking up by 21% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the market remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, blow lamp production soared to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 108%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2021 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.

Blow Lamp Exports

Exports in ASEAN

In 2022, approx. X tons of blow lamps were exported in ASEAN; which is down by -20.5% against the previous year. Overall, exports recorded a slight descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, blow lamp exports declined to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a mild increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 82%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Exports by Country

Vietnam dominates exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 97% of total exports in 2022. Indonesia (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Exports from Vietnam increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Indonesia (+20.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +20.5% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Vietnam and Indonesia increased by +27 and +2 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the largest blow lamp supplier in ASEAN, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Indonesia ($X), with a 0.2% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Vietnam totaled +6.5%.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 15% against the previous year. Export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, blow lamp export price decreased by -18.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 55% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while Indonesia stood at $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+4.2%).

Blow Lamp Imports

Imports in ASEAN

In 2022, the amount of blow lamps imported in ASEAN shrank to X tons, waning by -6.6% on the previous year. Total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +21.5% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 76% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, blow lamp imports stood at $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 165%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Thailand (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) were the major importers of blow lamps in ASEAN, together making up 53% of total imports. Singapore (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Indonesia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons). All these countries together held near 42% share of total imports. Malaysia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Myanmar (with a CAGR of +61.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported blow lamps in ASEAN, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Vietnam, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Thailand stood at +23.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (+4.0% per year) and Vietnam (+23.4% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 19% against the previous year. Import price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, blow lamp import price increased by +24.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 58% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+19.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
