Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, waning by -4.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 30%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, purchases abroad of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene decreased by -16.5% to X tons, falling for the fourth consecutive year after seven years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, imports of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene fell to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 47% against the previous year. The second position in the ranking was held by Indonesia ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia, with an 11% share.
In Vietnam, imports of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene increased at an average annual rate of +35.1% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Indonesia (+15.2% per year) and Malaysia (+4.3% per year).
