Over the period under review, exports saw a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 232%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, citrus fruit jams and marmalades exports rose sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports posted a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 153%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in ASEAN

In 2022, approx. X tons of citrus fruit jams, marmalades, jellies, purees or pastes were imported in ASEAN; jumping by 20% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, citrus fruit jams and marmalades imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 29%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Singapore (X tons) was the largest importer of citrus fruit jams, marmalades, jellies, purees or pastes, constituting 49% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Thailand (X tons), together making up a 43% share of total imports. The following importers - Indonesia (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) - each accounted for a 5.9% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to citrus fruit jams and marmalades imports into Singapore stood at -3.2%. At the same time, Thailand (+5.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +5.0% from 2012-2022.
