There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+0.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of cocoa powder (containing added sugar) decreased by -16.7% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 26%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, cocoa powder with sugar imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a mild reduction. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, cocoa powder with sugar import price decreased by -13.9% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 59% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
